Synopsis:
One piece focusses on a pirate crew called the strawhat pirates, led by the pirate Monkey D. Luffy, who has the ambition to become pirate king.
A pirate can only become pirate king by finding the great treasure One Piece, which has been left behind by the former pirate king, Gold Roger, at an unknown place.

Personal opinion:
Yeah... a very long anime... I know that, but don't scrub it of like it has a lot of fillers and such like Naruto or similar animes, One piece actually doesn't have that much fillers, or you just don't notice they're there, and some fillers are quite enjoyable, unlike Naruto.
The first episode may seem a little boring, but that is a common thing in animes XD.
Something that immediatly caught my attention to this anime was the comedy, it's a really funny show, but the comedy doesn't make the action scenes less intense, it has some good fights scenes.
An other thing that I like about this anime is the variety of characters, as this is a pirate anime, and a pirate crew needs multiple persons.
Every character is origional, they all have their funny points, strenghts, weaknesses, history and if you don't like one of them, another one will make up for it.
They all fight different, this causes a lot of variety in the fights too, which makes them more enjoyable.
Also, every character learns or reveals new moves at a good pace, so you won't be stuck up with every character having only 2 or 3 moves, they got more.
If you're looking for action and a good laughter, this anime is a must watch.... and if you don't look for that you still need to watch it =P
